2nd Annual Paddle for the Wild Side
Here is another fun event for the entire family. On Sunday July 21st, from 12 till 4 you will have the chance to get out on the water test ride a canoe, kayak or paddleboard and at the same time help our animals of the Northwoods. It will be an afternoon of guaranteed fun!
The Chequamegon Adventure Company and the Northwoods Wildlife Center will be at Torpy Park to host the 2nd Annual Paddle for the Wild Side!
Canoes, Kayaks and Paddleboards will be available to rent for a small fee. All of the proceeds will go towards supporting our animals at the NWC. Those of you who have your own kayak are welcome to bring it. A group paddle around parts of Lake Minocqua will start at noon.
That's not all. Some of our resident animals will be there putting the "wild" in Paddle for the Wild Side. Come meet them and learn more about the amazing wildlife who share our beautiful Northwoods.
Andrew Teichmiller, owner of Chequamegon Adventure Company, is sponsoring this event to help raise funds to support the orphaned, injured or sick animals that are brought to Northwoods Wildlife Center needing our care. Baby season is here and small animals go through huge amounts of food. It's scary how much they can eat. We have a lot of respect for parent wild animals and understand how much work it takes to raise their babies.
In addition to the rehab animals, funds are also needed to provide the best care for the NWC's residents who are hard working animal ambassadors traveling to area schools and community organizations as part of the our educational outreach programs.
