Paddle for the Wild Side
Is there a better way to spend a Sunday afternoon than out on the water? How about spending it out on the water and meeting some of the wildlife that call the Northwoods home, up close and personal? Well this Sunday July 15th, from 12 till 2 you'll have the chance.
The Chequamegon Adventure Company and the Northwoods Wildlife Center will be at Torpy Park to host the first annual Paddle for the Wild Side! Kayaks will be available for a small fee, the proceeds of which will go towards supporting our anianimals. Those of you who have your own kayak are welcome to bring it, and a group paddle around parts of Lake Minocqua will start at noon.
That's not all however; some of our resident birds of prey will be there putting the "wild" in Paddle for the Wild Side. Come meet them and learn a little more about the amazing wildlife we share the Northwoods with.
Andrew Teichmiller, owner of Chequamegon Adventure Company, has created this event to help raise funds to support the animals that come to the Northwoods Wildlife Center needing care. Baby season is here and small animals go through large amounts of food (Especially raccoons; it's scary how much they can eat). Funds are always needed to properly provide for these animals.
